AI Agents in Dev,Sec,and Ops- Issue 11
> _ -
Hey VibeOps Community👋
This week, GitHub is giving us coding agents we can summon anywhere, Microsoft's built an AI that reverse engineers malware like a digital detective, and AWS is calling out companies who think replacing junior devs with AI is a good idea (spoiler: it's not).
We've also got new research on AI code quality and helpful resources to keep you updated on AI for DevOps.
Agents panel: Launch Copilot coding agent tasks anywhere on GitHub
GitHub has launched the Agents panel, it is a new feature that allows developers to delegate coding tasks to GitHub Copilot's coding agent from anywhere on GitHub.
It lets you assign background tasks with simple natural language prompts, monitor progress in real-time, and review completed work through draft pull requests—all without leaving your current page.
Whether you need to add integration tests, refactor code, or fix specific issues, the Agents panel serves as mission control for autonomous coding workflows, with Copilot working asynchronously in the cloud to complete tasks even when your computer is offline.
Microsoft Announces An AI Agent for Reverse Engineering!
Microsoft Research has announced Project Ire, which is an autonomous AI agent that can independently analyze and classify malware by fully reverse engineering software files without prior knowledge.
Microsoft said that the system achieved 98% precision in testing and has already identified advanced threats that were subsequently blocked by Microsoft Defender.
AWS CEO Matt Garman: “Replacing Junior Staff with AI Is the Dumbest Thing I’ve Ever Heard”
AWS CEO Matt Garman recently pushed back against companies replacing junior employees with AI, calling it "one of the dumbest things I've ever heard."
He said that companies should not replace entry-level employees with AI because these employees cost the least while bringing fresh energy and curiosity. More importantly, they’re the most adaptable to experimenting with and adopting AI tools in their day to day work.
He also said that instead of trying to replace them, companies should give junior engineers AI to accelerate their learning, boost productivity, and build the next generation of talent.

The first Agent Battle ever, we gave Stakpak and Claude Code the same tasks to see who is better at what
But don’t worry, our next Stakpak Ship It session is around the corner, and we will be having another agent battle to see who is better in Kubernetes compliance.

Learning Resources
Every week, we come across interesting blogs, papers, and tutorials that help us level up as a DevOps team. Here are some of the coolest ones we found this week. We hope they inspire you, too.
How AI Reduces MTTR?
AI agents are helping teams catch problems early and fix them faster. In this video, they talk about how automation makes it easier to spot issues, respond quickly, and keep systems running without constant manual work.
Assessing the Quality and Security of AI-Generated Code
This new study analyzed code generated by five major AI models (including Claude and GPT-4o) across thousands of Java programming tasks.
While the AI models can generate functional code, they also introduce bugs, security vulnerabilities, and other code defects.
The research highlights that despite AI's coding capabilities, the generated code still requires careful review and debugging by human developers.
